Any ideas on how to fix it? Feels like a driver problem. Go to Solution. I had the same issue. Initially, it came with W10 preinstalled. After the upgrade to W11 problems with audio started. If you will try to upgrade drivers via device manager, you will get a message, that you already have the latest drivers installed.

Finally, I went to the official Asus support page and installed the latest drivers from there. This fixed problem for me. View solution in original post. In audio uncheck something similar to "Noice reducing AI-speaker".

I have swedish language. It fixed my problems. My audio worked perfect with any other app, but not in zoom. Couldnt hear music in zoom when someone shared their screen, only voice. I have the same issue. Sound and microphone giving issues. Works in Google Meet, Slack, Skype etc. Also started after upgrading to Windows Same problem on ZenBook in W The microphone and the speakers do not work together! If the microphone works, then the sound does not work and vice versa. Sometimes everything works and 5 minutes later the problem reappears!

Same problem as FifoTheHein. Do test all works again, but a few minutes later the same problem. I reverted back to Win 10 and no problems with Zoom. So clearly an issue with compatibility. I've just stopped using the Zoom Windows app and use Zoom in my browser instead, no issues when used via the browser, Just have to ignore the popup saying you need an app to join the zoom call and then click on. So this is clearly an issue with Zoom rather than Windows 11, seeing as no other apps seem to have this issue.

I fixed this by installing the x64 version of Zoom. I also did that, but for me it didn't seem to help, but I will give it another go.

Glad it's working for you. Have you also updated your window to windows 11? Zoom update did not work for me. The only way around the issue that I have found is to connect the audio output to a Bluetooth speaker and then use the laptop microphone. If I try to use the laptop speakers and microphone, it works for a second then the "unrecognised" issue pops back up. I have recorded a video on the laptop using the inbuilt speakers and microphone and all audio is fine playing movies, YouTube etc.

Given that it is across those four platforms, surly it must be a Windows 11 issue? Check my post below in this thread. In short - install the latest drivers from the Asus support page. Changing between external microphone, laptop's built-in, USB DAC headphones, and external webcam mic, works randomly, then fails after a few minutes. The Zoom meetings are with multiple different people. Testing the sound and mic using windows mic test, youtube, go-to-meeting, and others I can't replicate the issue.

Since all laptops are Dell, I have used the Dell command to update drivers and make sure windows updates are done, have also installed the zoom desktop app, but the issue is still appearing whether the user is using the web app or desktop app.

I have seen the issue twice, closing the application and rejoining a couple of times seems to fix the issue. I am hoping someone has a better fix? Unfortunately there isn't much to go on.

I had issues like this in the past and it was our firewall. Our firewall tries to inspect traffic coming in through secure protocols like httpsSince I manage this, I was able to hop in and create a new rule specifically for Zoom.

The rule allows any user internally to access a slew of Zoom related ip addresses without any filtering. I only allow to these ports. Two thoughts. Perhaps your Dell laptops with Windows are busy doing other tasks when the user is using Zoom and maybe shutting down tasks and tabs in browsers may help. What is the actual issue?

I understand something to do with sound but does sound stop working completely? Hardware not there? Sorry for not being very clear, issues are not sure if related or separate Mic stops responding, Mic not transmitting sound but shows in windows that mic is picking up sound.

The issue seems to have started with the Realtek Audio driver 6. I was able to confirm it continued to happen on these versions. Users are on the latest Zoom using auto-update. The trouble seems to be it's hard to reproduce so we never know if it's fixed. You'll think that a new driver does the trick until it triggers again. Keep an eye out for users reporting the issue on that downgraded driver. I recommend opening a case with Dell so they can escalate to the Advanced Resolution team.

My next thought is that rolling back Zoom from 5. We're going to swap out some of these new laptops with competitors' devices as we can see this is going to be a long crawl through support territory with Dell. We've had inexplicable issues with our Dell Latitude laptops and the folks who heavily use Zoom execs.

This exact same thing is happening and we've been at our wits end. We've tried literally everything. I was able to fix it by simply disabling and enabling the realtek microphone array for one person, and the other person's mic actually worked when the mic was DISABLED! No idea why. These are probably very unstable, nonpermanent fixes, so also ordered external mics for those users. The other person's doesn't work no matter what I do! I have a ticket in with Zoom that just got escalated to their engineering team so will report back there.

The problem is that once the issue occurs, the mic won't work for other programs either. How frustrating! I've got users who have the onboard Realtek array go completely dead. Nothing comes through the microphone in the 'Sound Settings' until I reinstall the driver, or delete the audio device from compmgmt. The folks with headsets seem to have the microphone go dead at the same as the onboard.

I've got a machine right now E on 6. This is the version that support. At this point, I'm convinced it's intermittent across many versions. The hard part is that all of the testing is happening with real people who need to get work done on these calls. The next best thing might be trying to capture the event with Procmon in an effort to further help the vendors isolate where this interaction is happening.

Guess what? After tickets open with everyone, Zoom engineering team provided this response - Microsoft is releasing a hotfix for this problem at the end of Sept! Big relief!

Unfortunately the suggestion of rolling back drivers did not help all the users, but we have alternatives until this hotfix is released.

Jul 06,  · Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the issue of glitching sound only affects my laptop. It doesn't matter whether there are just two of us on the zoom, or ten. The same thing happens. I've tried different times of the day, still the same. As I say, Skype and Teams seem to work OK, this is only an issue with Zoom. Sep 04,  · 1) right-click on the audio driver > Uninstall > If you get a prompt to delete the driver, please check it and proceed further. 2) Once done, go to the installed apps and check for any entries for the Realtek driver, if so, uninstall it. 3) Now, restart the system and check if the audio works fine while on ted Reading Time: 7 mins. The app also plays a key role in learning, business, meetings, and other areas of our lives. People who are not familiar with the controls of the app can also find it hard to hear other participants or get their voices heard. Participants on the other end of a zoom meeting might not hear you for a number of reasons.

Some of these factors are outlined below. All of these issues require different fixes. One common issue, however, which first-time zoom users, in particular, run into is disabling audio and muting their microphone. User unmutes and begins to talk. The problem begins within 3 seconds of the user talking or transmitting audio.

This has also been replicated when a user shares a web page with a video. As soon as both audio and video transmitted the problem occurs. Characteristics of the problem: From the perspective of the other attendees - the affected user unmutes, says a few words, and then their video freezes and audio stops. So no application crashes are logged in the Windows Application Event Log. The laptop can ping it's IP and the loopback address, but not it's local gateway. At around 10 seconds into the problem, the Zoom window closes, and the smaller, index-card-sized Zoom startup window pops up with the loading indicator spinning.

The gateway and other network and Internet IPs become pingable again. No idea how I would have fixed this without your post.
